- ~20,000sight-restoring surgeries since inception
Cataract is responsible for roughly half of all blindness worldwide, and it is curable in twenty minutes by a surgeon who is present and paid for. Mission for Vision exists to make sure that surgeon is present, and that nobody is turned away for want of money.
The club runs free eye camps, screens at scale, and funds the operations that follow. In 2024-25 the work extended beyond Lagos to Kano in partnership with the Rotary Club of Lagos Island. In 2025-26 the club facilitated 2,550 free cataract surgeries in a single Rotary year.
