2008How the club was chartered
The club was chartered on 30 June 2008 under Charter No. 79683, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Victoria Island East. Its Charter President was Rtn. Dr. Deep S. Mirani.
It was formed as the 81st club in District 9110, today District 9111, after the district was split, on the initiative of a group of industrialists, philanthropists and business professionals in Ilupeju. Among them were Mr. Naranbhai G. Patel, Dr. Deep Mirani and Dr. Alexander Thomopulos.
The club was nurtured by the then District Governor Rtn. Somo Omoniyi (2007-08), with support from Rtn. Dr. M. Oladeinde Shoga of the Rotary Club of Gbagada. On Sunday 18 May 2008, the inaugural meeting was held at 1 D’Alberto Road, Palm Grove Estate, attended by 22 people. The Charter Presentation Ceremony followed on 18 October 2008 at the New China Restaurant, Opic Plaza, Ikeja, Lagos.
